How the rating works

Every comparison judged during the season goes into one pool, and the whole table is recalculated from scratch after each round. The number is not points you collect, it is an estimate of strength given every result so far. Everyone starts from 1100, and a rating only moves away from that baseline as far as the evidence justifies.

That is why the order can differ from a count of wins. A win counts for more when the person you beat has beaten others, so a rating can even move in a round its owner did not play. In Season 1 the top two each won two rounds and met three times, and the leader took two of those three meetings.

Season 1 is finished and these ratings are final. Every comparison behind them is in the four round write-ups, verdict by verdict, and every entry is still playable in the gallery.
